Mid Level Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney - 5+ years experience.

A growing litigation platform is seeking a senior-level and mid-level attorney to join its Westchester office , with a focus on transportation, general liability, and insurance defense matters .

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on litigator with leadership experience to step into a hybrid practice overseeing both complex matters and day-to-day office operations.

The Role

The position involves handling a broad range of high-exposure litigation matters , including:

\n
• General liability and complex tort claims
\n
• Transportation and trucking litigation (including catastrophic injury and fatality cases)
\n
• Motor vehicle and premises liability matters
\n
• Construction-related claims
\n
• Insurance coverage and bad faith litigation
\n
• Municipal and civil rights defense
\n

The practice has a strong focus on transportation litigation , representing:

\n
• Motor carriers
\n
• Bus and paratransit companies
\n
• Owner-operators, brokers, and shippers
\n
• Insurance carriers
\n

Matters range from catastrophic accidents to cargo disputes and regulatory-driven litigation , with frequent involvement in:

\n
• FMCSA regulations
\n
• Hours of Service / ELD compliance
\n
• CSA scoring and safety standards
\n

A portion of the role may also include SIU / insurance fraud work , including:

\n
• Medical provider fraud investigations
\n
• Fraudulent claims defense
\n
• Examinations Under Oath (EUOs)
\n
• Coverage opinions and advisory work
\n
• Carrier recovery efforts in high-value fraud matters
\n

Ideal Candidate

\n
• 10+ years of insurance defense litigation experience for senior role, NY and NJ Bar Admission
\n
• 5+ Years of insurance defense litigation experience for mid level role, must be commuting distance to Westchester - NY Bar Admission
\n
• Experience handling transportation / trucking matters a plus
\n
• Experience in coverage, SIU, or fraud-related litigation is a plus
\n
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
\n
• Strong courtroom, deposition, and client management skills
\n
